Structure
The advert has a clear narrative, where French actor Jean Dujardin is about to use the last coffee pod, but before he can put it in the machine George Clooney turns up and says "Jean." and tilts his head at the coffee pod with a raised eyebrow signalling that he wants it. Jean looks down at Clooney's shoes and exclaims "Nice shoes". Clooney, confused, looks down and realises that the only way he is going to get that pod is if he trades for it. As Jean walks away in Clooney's shoes, Clooney makes the coffeeand before he gets to drink it, a woman walks up, he gives it to her being the gentleman. She calls out "Do you want milk." and Jean replies "No, thank you." Clooney looks up after realising that she is getting it for him.
Techniques
meaning is achieved through visual and audio aspects, where Clooney wants to make the coffee but his plans are ruined by Jean's foul play. And even if you missed the intention of the visual, the voice over at the end makes the message extremely obvious "How far would you go, for a Nespresso?"
